Why engage in restoration?

Our watersheds are threatened by a variety of impacts--mostly human--that reduce water quality, biodiversity, available habitat, and the health of our ecosystems. At the same time, these watersheds are also home to an amazing array of wildlife and plants which inspire us to reduce and reverse our impacts by engaging in restoration projects. The council members and many others have long begun the process of restoring the health of our watersheds through a variety of restoration projects. These projects have involved a wide range of community groups from neighborhood associations, schools, churches, businesses, government agencies, non-profits, individuals, and others environmental stewards.
